The Dumont Huskies entered their tilt with the Fort Lee Bridgemen with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Dumont took down Fort Lee 57-41 on Tuesday. Given Dumont's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Fort Lee is ranked 308th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Defeat or not, Fort Lee got some senior leadership from Isaiah Valdez who scored 18 points and Devin Jang who scored 19 points. Valdez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.
Dumont's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Fort Lee, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
Dumont will take on Newark Vocational at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Newark Vocational is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Fort Lee, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ridgefield Park at 7:00 p.m.
