The Seeger Patriots will take on the Tri-County Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seeger is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Seeger's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Lafayette Central Catholic. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Lyla Badger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Badger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Aubrey Spear was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Audra Pickett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Seeger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 8-3 when they post 11 or more hits.
Tri-County came out on top against West Lafayette on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Cavaliers walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Red Devils.
Like Seeger, Tri-County also got a great game from a two-way player: Grace Luck. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Luck has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Luck wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Bledsoe, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Bledsoe has posted since back in April.
Seeger has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Tri-County, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Seeger hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Tri-County struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Seeger suffered a grim 16-6 defeat to Tri-County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
