On Saturday, The Weslaco East Wildcats never let their opponents score. They really took it to Pace for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-0 victory on the road. Weslaco East pushed the score to 44-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Pace had no chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Alex Martinez, who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Gabriel Horta got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Weslaco East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Pace, their loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-7.
Weslaco East will take on Donna North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pace does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
