Jacksonville won the last time they faced Northside - Jacksonville and things went their way on Friday too. The Cardinals blew past the Monarchs 48-27. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Monarchs are ranked 194th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Jacksonville, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Yondez Baker, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Northside - Jacksonville's loss came despite strong showings from GAVYN DAVIS and REGINALD GRAY. DAVIS picked up 172 receiving yards and three TDs, while GRAY threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns.
