Jacksonville won the last time they faced Northside - Jacksonville and things went their way on Friday too. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 48-27 margin over the Monarchs. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Monarchs are ranked 196th).

GAVYN DAVIS and REGINALD GRAY certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. DAVIS picked up 172 receiving yards and three scores, while GRAY threw for 261 yards and four TDs.

Jacksonville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 45.5 points this season. As for Northside - Jacksonville, their record now sits at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Jacksonville and Northside - Jacksonville will both be playing Topsail the next time they take the field. The Monarchs will head out to face the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Cardinals will host them at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
