On Tuesday, Loogootee got the win against Wood Memorial by a conclusive 13-3.
The team relied heavily on Tanner Phillips, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Rawlings Bell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Washington was able to grind out a solid victory over Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, taking the game 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Hatchets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.
Alton Ostby was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Ostby wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trey James, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Loogootee's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Washington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Washington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Loogootee has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .495. It's a different story for Washington, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Loogootee's hitters?
Loogootee took their victory against Washington in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hatchets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
