Basketball Game Preview: John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles vs. Girard Indians

The John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles will head out to square off against the Girard Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. John F. Kennedy Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.

John F. Kennedy Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on January 8th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 62-32 win over Mogadore. The Eagles pushed the score to 59-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

John F. Kennedy Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Didi Ryan, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. Ryan is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Myers, who went 5 of 7 en route to 14 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Girard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 48-42 to Maplewood.

John F. Kennedy Catholic's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Girard, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.

John F. Kennedy Catholic suffered a grim 59-39 defeat to Girard in their previous meeting back in January of 2015. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point John F. Kennedy Catholic was down 46-15.
