Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Port Gibson). They blew past the Hazlehurst Indians 24-4 on Saturday. The Blue Waves haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  win against them.
 Terrance Evans made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Port Gibson is undefeated when he allows at  most  three  earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Evans was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Michael Evans was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, five  stolen bases,  and eight  RBI. He has become a key player for Port Gibson: the team is 7-3 when he posts  at  least  two  stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise.  Centrell Hedrick was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  triple.
 Port Gibson  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .788. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  OBP total in five consecutive  games.
Port Gibson's record is now 9-10. As for Hazlehurst,  they are  on  an  11-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-19-1.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Port Gibson beat the Indians by a score of  15-1 later that day.
