In what's become a running theme this season, the Peach County Trojans gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pike County 63-27 at home. Winning may never get old, but Peach County sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Peach County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexia Heyward, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Atiana Gilcrist was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Pike County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sadie Lewis, who scored five points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kerrah Foster, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Peach County pushed their record up to 6-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.33 points. As for Pike County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peach County will take on Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Peach County is ranked 140th). Pike County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jasper County at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th.
