Basketball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Skates Past Cicero Prep Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mohave Accelerated). They blew past the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions, posting a 61-21 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 35 points or more this season.

Katie Farnell was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 15 on her way to 22 points and eight steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Banks, who posted 16 points and eight boards.

Mohave Accelerated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Mohave Accelerated's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Mohave Accelerated didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-41 loss against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 13th. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-11 victory against San Tan Charter on the 13th.
