Hawthorne made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Crescent City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Hawthorne was the clear victor by an 18-5 margin over Crescent City on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Hawthorne got a massive performance out of Alaina Auld, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5. Auld also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Anieha Kitt, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Hawthorne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win snapped Hawthorne's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for Crescent City, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawthorne will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eastside at 6:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Crescent City, they will take on Father Lopez at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
