The Centerpoint Knights came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Prescott as Centerpoint made off with a 53-29 victory. Given Centerpoint's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Prescott is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaycee Smith was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Hewitt, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Centerpoint's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. As for Prescott, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Centerpoint will head out on the road to square off against Genoa Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Prescott, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bismarck at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bismarck is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
