The Quilcene Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Crescent 50-12. Quilcene was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-2.
Ciara Cargo-Acosta was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds for Crescent. The game was Cargo-Acosta's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Alexis Dunavant was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Quilcene bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crescent, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
After both having extra time off, Quilcene and Evergreen Lutheran will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Evergreen Lutheran and Quilcene are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Crescent will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Darrington at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
