Basketball Recap: Boquet Valley Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Boquet Valley won the last time they faced Seton Catholic Central, and Carson Leibeck did his part to make sure it happened again. The Boquet Valley Griffins took down the Seton Catholic Central Knights 55-36 on Thursday thanks in part to Leibeck, who went 12 of 23 en route to 26 points and four steals. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Liberi, who posted ten points and three steals. Those ten points gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Seton Catholic Central had strong showings from Oliver Hughes, who had ten points, and Michael Mannix, who scored eight points and four steals. Mannix has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Matt Debay, who earned seven points.

Boquet Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Seton Catholic Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Boquet Valley has already played their next contest, a 35-31 victory against Colton-Pierrepont on the 11th. As for Seton Catholic Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-33 win against Lake Placid on the 11th.
