Even though the Southwest Patriots scored an imposing 60 points on Monday, the Spencer Greenwave still came out on top. Spencer took their contest against the Patriots 67-60. The win made it back-to-back wins for Spencer.
Joe Dozier continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gary Gaither, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Spencer pushed their record up to 19-3 with that win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.5 points. As for Southwest, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 426th, while the Greenwave are ranked 170th). As for Southwest, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Academy for Classical Education focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Friday.
