Eastside hasn't had much luck against Oak Hall recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Eastside has given up an average of 17.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Eastside might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-1 to Gainesville, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Kaiden Davis made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Oak Hall earned a 9-6 victory over Fort White on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Brayden Farmer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Aaron Akins was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. Oak Hall is 2-1 when Akins posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Fischer Green, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Oak Hall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort White only posted an OBP of .394.
Oak Hall's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Eastside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-19.
Eastside might still be hurting after the 23-0 loss they got from Oak Hall in their previous matchup back in February. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
