If The Paso Robles Bearcats were riding high off their 42-3 takedown of the Santa Ynez Pirates last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Paso Robles fell 34-21 to Nipomo on Friday. Paso Robles was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Nipomo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Paso Robles still got an impressive performance from Conner Bowman, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
Among those leading the charge was Blayne Lowry, who threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Teagan Campbell also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Paso Robles has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Nipomo, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paso Robles will take on Arroyo Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Arroyo Grande's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Paso Robles has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Nipomo, they will square off against Righetti at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Righetti comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
