Softball Recap: Linfield Christian Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Linfield Christian won the last time they faced Woodcrest Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Linfield Christian Lions put the hurt on the Woodcrest Christian Royals with a sharp 15-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Presley Sloniker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Sloniker was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Charli Calas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chloe Hill, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Linfield Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Linfield Christian pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Woodcrest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Coming up, Linfield Christian will head out to face off against Sultana at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sultana's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Linfield Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Woodcrest Christian, they will host Ontario Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ontario Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
