The Rosewood Eagles will square off against the Eastern Wayne Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Rosewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Rosewood took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hunt a 4-0 shutout.

Hunt's batters probably weren't too happy with McCandless St John, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up zero walks). St John has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayley Bedford, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run. Natalie Blake was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Rosewood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hunt struck out 13 times.
Meanwhile, Eastern Wayne entered their tilt with Douglas Byrd on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 17-0 win. The game marked the Warriors' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Mallory Reed was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Reed was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Avery Vick and Natalia Pierce did most of the damage at the plate: Vick went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Pierce went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave Pierce a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madaline Womack, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
The win got Rosewood back to even at 4-4. As for Eastern Wayne, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rosewood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eastern Wayne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rosewood got the 'W' when the teams last played on March 5th against Eastern Wayne by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
