The Meadowbrook Colts will venture away from home to take on the Morgan Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meadowbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Meadowbrook needed a bit of extra time to put away New Lexington. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Colts have posted since May 13, 2024.

Cohen Miles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miles was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Meadowbrook's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Kade Winnett was incredible, going 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Meadowbrook: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunner Davis, who went 1-for-5 with two runs and one double.
Meadowbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Philo, falling 15-4. Raiders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Electrics since on Tuesday.
Landan Gheen was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Jadyn Reese also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meadowbrook's record is now 4-5. As for Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Meadowbrook has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Morgan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Meadowbrook might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Morgan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
