Several Sundevils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trevor Taumoepeau, who threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns. Taumoepeau's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 305 passing yards. Mt. Carmel's leading receiver Connor Gibbons was Taumoepeau's top target yet again, picking up 152 receiving yards and one TD.
Eastlake can attribute much of their success to Tyler Balko, who rushed for 109 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Those 109 rushing yards gave Balko a new career-high.
Mt. Carmel has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Eastlake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
