The St. Georges Tech Hawks were the 57-50 winner over the Howard Wildcats when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. St. Georges Tech lost to Howard on the road by a decisive 65-51 margin on Saturday.
When it comes to explaining why St. Georges Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blair Thomas. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Dominic Angeloni was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, St. Georges Tech were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leading Howard to victory were Kaden Brown and Nick Baysah. Brown scored 15 points along with six rebounds, while Baysah scored 20 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Teion Jenkins, who scored ten points along with three steals.
St. Georges Tech's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Howard, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Georges Tech is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Havre de Grace at 6:45 p.m. on December 19th. Havre de Grace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 75th in Maryland, while St. Georges Tech is ranked 14th in Delaware). As for Howard, they will head out on the road to face off against Newark at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
