St. David came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 80-58 to the Southern Wake Academy Lions. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Green, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 17 points. Green is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Giorgios Panagos, who posted 17 points.

Southern Wake Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kobe Plata led the charge by going 7-for-10 en route to 16 points in addition to eight assists and five steals. That's the most steals Plata has posted since back in January. Tony Lopez was another key player, putting up 14 points and five steals.

St. David's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Southern Wake Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, St. David's will take on St. Christopher Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Wake Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-54 loss against Grace Christian on the 29th.
