For the first time this season, Wakefield will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Rolesville Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wakefield will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Rolesville's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Wakefield hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Wolverines never let Enloe get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Friday. The matchup marked the Wolverines' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Ethan Wisler made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wisler was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other pitching news, Cooper Pleasants looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Channing Parker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Thomas Piscorik was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Wakefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Enloe only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Rolesville was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against Millbrook, falling 8-2. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.
Rolesville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitchell Pufky, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Wakefield pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rolesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Rolesville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wakefield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .469. It's a different story for Rolesville, though, as they've only averaged .340. Will they be able to contain Wakefield's hitters?
Everything went Wakefield's way against Rolesville when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Wakefield made off with an 8-2 win. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
