North Miami Beach has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The North Miami Beach Chargers and the Stranahan Mighty Dragons will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, North Miami Beach made off with a 52-51 win over Hialeah. The victory was just what North Miami Beach needed coming off of a 68-41 defeat in their prior match.
Jaycob Joseph continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of North Miami Beach's points. Jephte Noel was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stranahan earned a 61-52 win over South Broward last Friday. Given Stranahan's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while South Broward is ranked 483rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Miami Beach is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Stranahan, their win was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
