The Prospect Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Pioneer Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Prospect took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Gilroy by a score of 3-1.
While Prospect might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Gilroy scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Prospect's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Shyla Wang, who had 21 digs, and Thien Tran, who had five digs and five aces. That's the most aces Tran has posted since back in September.
Meanwhile, Pioneer had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Grizzlies.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pioneer took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-12.
Prospect better focus on containing Ella Rhyasen and Eva Rhyasen as the pair were huge in Pioneer's win. Ella had 55 assists and eight digs, while Eva had 29 assists and five aces. Ella is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Pioneer was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in six consecutive matches.
Pioneer now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Prospect, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Prospect beat Pioneer 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
