They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tradition Prep 73-16 at home. Given Somerset College Prep Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Tradition Prep is ranked 505th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Somerset College Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chelsey Francis, who scored 20 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Francis scored 15 or more points. Kayla Curry was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Somerset College Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Tradition Prep, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Somerset College Prep Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Cardinal Newman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cardinal Newman will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Somerset College Prep Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Tradition Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
