Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Mead

Mead had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Cheney Blackhawks as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by ten runs or more this season.

Mead's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cheney, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Mead will challenge Gonzaga Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Bullpups at the right time seeing as the Bullpups are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Cheney, they will face off against Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Blackhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
