The IMG Academy Blue Ascenders pushed their score all the way to 72 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 82-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bell Creek Academy. IMG Academy Blue was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bell Creek Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Bell Creek Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Sanders, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanders has scored all season. Jermal Jones was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks.
IMG Academy Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Bell Creek Academy, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9.
IMG Academy Blue on the road again on Thursday and play against Jordan Christian Prep on January 25th. As for Bell Creek Academy, they will take on Westminster Academy at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,121 points over their last 16 matchups.
