Cotter has won four straight games at home, while Highland has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Warriors will host the Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Cotter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Cotter's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Ozark Catholic Academy as they made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Warriors have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Cole Tilton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Devin Milton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI.
Cotter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Highland posted their closest victory since April 18, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Cedar Ridge. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won eight in a row.
Highland's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Sinclair, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sinclair is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another was Zac Huckabee, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Cotter's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cotter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
