Leilani Sheperd was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Faith Sotelo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Miramonte put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for San Lorenzo. The Matadors blew past the Grizzlies 11-0. The win continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.
Sammy Hardy was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Hardy was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Miramonte got a big performance out of Lucy Daoust, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Raiden Reasoner also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Miramonte always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Mt. Diablo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Miramonte, their record is now 9-4.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mt. Diablo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like Miramonte struggles in that department as they've averaged .514. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mt. Diablo came up short against Miramonte in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 6-1. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
