MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - the Mohigans had a big 32-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 45-21 victory over
Brooke (Wellsburg, W. Va.).
Morgantown scored on a touchdown run by
Mark Johnson, a
Alex Weidman touchdown run, a Johnson touchdown pass to
Stone Wolfley, a touchdown run by
Shane Commodore and a touchdown pass by Johnson to
Blaine Stewart in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Weidman touchdown run in the second quarter, MHS led 32-7 at the half.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 25.
Johnson was the top performer for the Mohigans. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
The Bruins'
Zac Morris played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 27-20 win for Morgantown.
The defeat comes as a step back for Brooke, which notched a 17-13 victory over John Marshall in its previous outing. With the win MHS extended its winning streak to three games. The loss snapped Brooke's 2-game winning streak.
