The Amplus Academy Archers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-15 loss at the hands of Clark. While losing is never fun, Amplus Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Clark is ranked 23rd).
When it comes to explaining why Amplus Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Falna Ahferom. Despite the final result, he scored eight points.
Amplus Academy bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Clark, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amplus Academy will take on Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Clark, they will head out on the road to challenge Somerset Sky Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
