Northland Prep Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Basis Yeti at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Northland Prep Academy's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Basis' offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Saturday, Northland Prep Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Pinon, taking the game 47-38.
Northland Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grace Schulz, who scored 12 points along with seven steals. Schulz hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nat Auker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds.
Basis suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 64-16 loss at the hands of St. Michael. Basis has not had much luck with St. Michael recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Northland Prep Academy pushed their record up to 12-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Basis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Northland Prep Academy against Basis when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 42-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northland Prep Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
