The Bucktail Bucks had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by Muncy 69-30 on Wednesday. Bucktail lost against Muncy in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 81-49 score last time.
Muncy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Zalonis out in front who scored 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Zalonis has scored at least 25% of Muncy's points. Noah Confer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Bucktail's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Muncy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bucktail will be home for the holidays to greet Sullivan County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Muncy will be home for the holidays to greet Towanda at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Towanda will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 487th, while Muncy is ranked 170th).
