The Culver Academies Eagles will take on the La Lumiere Lakers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Culver Academies will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Culver Academies gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Washington Township with a sharp 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Nick Fumich was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Ainsley Ritchie was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and two stolen bases. Trey Schumacher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Culver Academies kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, La Lumiere earned a 5-1 win over Marquette Catholic on Wednesday.
Like Culver Academies, La Lumiere also got a great game from a two-way player: Josh Jaracz. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Jaracz has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sabastian Morris was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bennett Contreras, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Culver Academies pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for La Lumiere, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
La Lumiere's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Culver Academies hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .411. It's a different story for La Lumiere, though, as they've only averaged .213. Will they be able to contain Culver Academies' hitters?
Culver Academies took their win against La Lumiere when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 25-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
