Minarets is 0-6 against Liberty since April of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will host the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Minarets sitting on four straight victories and Liberty on three.
Minarets barely beat Yosemite the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Badgers on Thursday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Addison Lafferty made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Addy Nielsen was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Peyton Nielsen was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty). They put the hurt on Parlier with a sharp 21-4 win on Wednesday. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Like Minarets, Liberty also got a great game from a two-way player: Macie Webster. On the mound, Webster pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Careli Alvarado tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Webster went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Alvarado got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave Alvarado a new career-high.
In other batting news, Liberty let Carly Jimenez and Leilah Uriarte run wild. Jimenez went 3-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs, while Uriarte got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Jimenez has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewelyssa Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Minarets' win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
Liberty's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Minarets has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Liberty, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Minarets keep running through batters, or will the Hawks buck the trend?
Minarets suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Liberty in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
