After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three contest, The Streator Bulldogs finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were beaten by Wilmington 50-8. Streator has struggled against Wilmington recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Christian Benning rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Mohr was his top target, picking up 96 receiving yards.
Streator's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Wilmington, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Streator does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wilmington will be playing in front of their home fans against Mercer County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mercer County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Wilmington is ranked 94th).
