The Huss Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Forestview Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Huss knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Forestview likes a good challenge.
Huss scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Stuart W. Cramer 80-54. Given Huss' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Stuart W. Cramer is ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Martin Smith went supernova for Huss, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trimell Dunlap, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Forestview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 104-70 loss at the hands of Kings Mountain. Forestview has not had much luck with Kings Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Huss has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Forestview, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-15.
Huss beat Forestview 62-51 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huss since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
