The Lincoln Lynx will venture away from home to square off against the Bothell Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Lincoln turned things around against Holy Names Academy on Thursday. They blew past Holy Names Academy 11-4.
Ava Rawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Lincoln let Dakota Blokker and Anja Ticen run wild. Blokker went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Ticen went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Blokker has posted since back in April of 2025. Lily LeDoux also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holy Names Academy struck out seven times.
While Bothell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Mountlake Terrace on Wednesday as they made off with a 17-9 victory. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Arya Trivedi was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Kolbi Schmer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Lincoln's record now sits at 2-3. As for Bothell, their record is now 4-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lincoln has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Bothell struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
