The Southwest Roughriders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Hitchcock County 48-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwest in their matchups with Hitchcock County: they've now lost six in a row.
Southwest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Rippe, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Jakub Walz,, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hitchcock County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Southwest's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wauneta-Palisade at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Hitchcock County, they will face off against Medicine Valley on December 14th. Medicine Valley and Hitchcock County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
