The Petrolia Pirates can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 25-20 win over Olney. The win was just what Petrolia needed coming off of a 77-21 loss in their prior match.
Petrolia found their leader in underclassman Alyssa Lands, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. Holland Horton was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Petrolia's victory bumped their record up to 12-17. As for Olney, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-23 record this season.
Petrolia will square off against Archer City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Petrolia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Olney, they will be playing at home against Nocona at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nocona will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Olney surely won't give up without a fight.
