Cobre is a perfect 10-0 against Hatch Valley since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Cobre's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
On Saturday, Cobre got the win against Socorro by a conclusive 21-2. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Cameron Ortiz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other pitching news, Ezekiel Rodriguez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jesus Lopez, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Izrael Dominguez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
Cobre always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hatch Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Hot Springs by a score of 16-14.
ALAN RUIZ and MIGUEL MARQUEZ stepped up to the plate in a big way. RUIZ got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while MARQUEZ went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of ADRIAN VASQUEZ, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Cobre has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Hatch Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
Cobre took their win against Hatch Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
