The Lakeview Sailors will venture away from home to face off against the Saegertown Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lakeview comes in on four and Saegertown on seven.
Last Wednesday, Lakeview made easy work of Cambridge Springs and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Sailors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Parker Montgomery was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Owen Dye looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Garet Guthrie, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leyton Zacherl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Lakeview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambridge Springs only posted an OBP of .143.
Meanwhile, Saegertown got the win against Rocky Grove on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-3. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Everett Gardner made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Gardner was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Saegertown got a massive performance out of Blake Burchill, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Wyatt Burchill was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lakeview's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Saegertown, their record now sits at 7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lakeview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Saegertown struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lakeview took their win against Saegertown in their previous matchup back in May of 2019 by a conclusive 18-8 score. Do the Sailors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
