On Friday, The Roosevelt Roughriders faced the Dunbar Crimson Tide in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Roosevelt was outmatched by Dunbar at home and fell 36-7. Roosevelt lost against Dunbar in their previous head to head back in September, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-6 score last time.
Despite the loss, Roosevelt had strong showings from Deyon Smith, who rushed for 124 yards on only 12 carries, and Ethan Walker, who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Dunbar, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
