Even though the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers have not done well against the Texas School for the Deaf Rangers recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Indiana School for the Deaf took down Texas School for the Deaf 46-30. The team accrued 34 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
It was another big night for Sophia Wascher, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Olivia Wascher, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Indiana School for the Deaf is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Texas School for the Deaf, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indiana School for the Deaf will take on Irvington Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Irvington Preparatory Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last 14 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Texas School for the Deaf, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brentwood Christian at 6:30 p.m. Brentwood Christian and Texas School for the Deaf are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
