After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwest Christian, the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They secured a 46-41 W over Camp Verde. That's another feather in the cap for Bourgade Catholic, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Juliet Botiller was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bourgade Catholic's points. Kyra Williams was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds.
Page Oothoudt and Wa'siiva Lewis certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Oothoudt dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Lewis scored ten points. The contest was Oothoudt's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Bourgade Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Camp Verde, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bourgade Catholic will take on Scottsdale Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Camp Verde won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wickenburg at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Wickenburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Camp Verde is ranked 82nd).
