The Sayre Spartans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They snuck past Eminence with a 12-8 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sayre also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Eminence lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Smither. Despite the final result, he rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown.
Sayre's win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Eminence, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sayre will take on Bethlehem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Bethlehem is ranked 108th, while Sayre is ranked 97th). As for Eminence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gallatin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gallatin County is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
