Volleyball Recap: Galena Extends Winning Streak to Six

Galena entered their tilt with Orion on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Chargers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since September 11th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Galena who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 19-25, 16-14.

Galena can attribute much of their success to Jayme Frank, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Frank has posted since back in September of 2024.

Galena's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Orion, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galena will challenge Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orion, they will face off against Sherrard at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
