Century is 1-6 against Massac County since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Centurions will take on the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Century is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.
On Wednesday, Century got the win against Carrier Mills-Stonefort by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Centurions, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Adam Taake and Brandon Plott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Taake tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Plott tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Taake has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Taake went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and four RBI, while Plott went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave Taake a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bryce Windings was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jace Wright was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Massac County posted their closest victory since March 29th on Tuesday. They skirted past Vienna 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.
The team relied heavily on Adan Mizell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Century's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Massac County, their record now sits at 15-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Century has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Massac County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Century suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Massac County when the teams last played back in March. Can the Centurions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
